The Watch
The Langematik line was born in 1997, after the company had created the exceptional automatic L921.2 caliber (or the Sax-O-Mat) and is a result of the 5 years work and the genius of the now retired movement designer Helmut Geyer. Even today, the caliber L921.2 (non date) or the L921.4 (with date) is the automatic movement to have from A. Lange & Söhne.

As mentioned above, the Langematik line was introduced in 1997 and is the first automatic watch family of A. Lange & Söhne. These Lange's are really starting to rocket as interest is growing intensely in the early Walter Lange era pieces.

In 2014, before his sad death in 2017, our colleagues over at Hodinkee visited the A.Lange & Söhne HQ and met Walter Lange, his daily watch? None other than a 308.027 Big Date.

Hodinkee claim Walter said "that he remembers when this watch was in development and how excited he was for it to be made because it gave him everything he wanted in an every-day watch including the trademark outsize date" and that he was "unrelenting in his praise of the Langematik with Outsized Date".

You cannot really ask for a better endorsement of the 308.027 than that!

This example dates from 1998 and is in a 37mm 18k White Gold Case with Black Dial is absolutely spectacular. In fantastic condition, the Watch is all original.
