The Watch

The "no T" or "thin case" Doxa Sub 300's were the very first iteration of the Doxa diving series of watches and was actually only produced for one year in 1967. This original design differentiates itself from the later Sub 300T's with a domed acrylic crystal, a thinner case, and of course no "T" next to "SUB300" on the dial. The Doxa Sub 300's are truly collector's pieces as it's believed about 100 examples remain today and mark a generational shift for the Doxa brand as a strong contender in the sporting watch arena.

The Doxa Sub 300 went on to become the Doxa Synchron Sub 300T line and is one of the brand's most recognizable watches. It was the first commercially made dive watch with various colour dials and no-decompression bezel. These watches were made with functionality in mind. From the burly shape of the case to the application of the maximum amount of tritium allowed by law on the dial for legibility, these tool watches were meant to be used.

The Sub300t's are one of the most iconic Vintage Dive Watches out there, Thanks in no small part to the Dive Icon Jacques Cousteau.

Jacques Cousteau owned and wore a Doxa Sub300T. Cousteau, who at the time was the head of U.S. Divers, was so impressed by the Doxa Sub300T that he became a distributor of the reference in the United States and co-branded the dial of the Sub300T with the U.S. Divers logo.

This particular rare bird of a Professional is in very good order and quite possibly all original bar the strap. The Watch dates from c.1967 we know this as these were only produced for one year.

Getting Acquainted

Nitty Gritty:
-Light Scratches throughout the Case.
- Bezels have lost their paint.
- Dial has flaked slightly around the outside 9pm side.

Overall this Rarity is in very nice used condition.
The Handset is Original. It has a small bit of blistering.
The Dial is in lovely condition. It has flaked slightly around the outside 9pm side, which seems to be common occurrence with these, it has been treated to prevent any further flaking.
Crystal is very possibly original, it has a few scratches, nothing major at all.
