There is a few theories about the original use but I think it’s generally accepted that they were designed for the Fr\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eogmen and Divers.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFrogmen in WW2 were combat divers and underwater demolition specialists used for reconnaissance on beaches, sabotage and amphibious assault support.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhat is particularly exciting about this example, is that it has \u003cstrong\u003eissue markings\u003c\/strong\u003e to the caseback, it is estimated that only around \u003cstrong\u003e200\u003c\/strong\u003e of these were issued in WW2 with only an estimated \u003cstrong\u003e34 \u003c\/strong\u003eof these surviving to the knowledge of the esteemed collectors at MWR.
