The Watch
.
Omega first began applying "Genève" to the dials of their dressier 30mm watches in 1953. This was in honor of their 30mm calibre that set records at the Geneva Observatory. By 1967 the name began to be applied to models throughout Omega's range, such as the Omega Dynamic, that were produced in large volumes. From 1965 to 1967, Omega sold watches with "Seamaster Genève" on the dial, after 1967 they were signed with just Genève.
.This particular Omega Seamaster Genève dates from 1968 and is what we call a transitional model, it is completely correct with a Seamaster Case and a lovely crosshair Genève dial. It is signed Fab.Suisse inside the Caseback so was probably a French market model.
