Absolute monster of Vintage Engineering, SOLID 43mm steel case, it's reeking of Supreme Quality and this chap is not for the light hearted.

The Plaque that would sit on movement with Calibre Information and Serial numbers, has been lost over the years supposedly during a Service or Battery Change, the chap whom this came from says he bought this new in Christmas 1975, which ties in well with other known examples of this Reference which date from 1973-1975.

Movement
- Excellent quality Electronic Tuning Fork 300hz Chronometer movement calibre 1255 based on the ETA-ESA 9210, which is considered as the Rolls Royce of Tuning Fork Movements. ETA-ESA would produce just 21000 examples of these Movements. Omega were one such customer for the 9210 and like many manufactures they assigned their own reference to the movement - the Omega 1250 (date only) and 1255 (chronograph with a day/date).
- The 300hz you can see on the dial relates to the frequency (300Hz) at which the movement vibrates.
- Top Quality 12 hr/30 min Chronograph.
- The Movement features a Quickset Day/ Date function which is activated by extending the Crown into position 1. You must set the Day before you set the Date, you can set the date by Turning the Crown to the right and then you can set your desired day by turning the Crown to the left. Please ensure the Crown is replaced back to the case after you have finished setting.

The Movement is has some aged related pitting but it is wonderful and Clean whilst ticking away strongly and keeping Excellent time having been professionally Inspected by our fantastic in-house Watchmaker. He was happy enough with it to offer a 3 month limited warranty.
You will receive a warranty card, please keep this as proof of your Warranty.
New Battery has just been fitted as part of the inspection.

Dial
Awesome original Omega factory vintage dial that just seems to change from Dark Grey to Navy in different lights. This very busy dial is beautifully proportioned and wears super on your Wrist.
It wouldn't be a Speedsonic without a Tachymeter Ring,
the Tachymeter was for drivers who want to calculate their average speed when racing.....Obviously.

The Dial is in a condition, that is a Collector's dream, unmolested and unrestored this fantastic Original factory Dial is in beautiful condition.
The Tritium has aged nicely but has lost its luminous properties.
You will be very hard pressed to find a better example than this Chap.
This is the original Untouched Vintage Dial and what a superb one at that.

Case
Top Quality Chunk of Solid Stainless Steel Case.
The very well proportioned 43mm case, it is a Bruiser of a Vintage Watch.
The Case is in very good condition for its age with some age related markings but nothing major at all.
6 notch Caseback in very nice nick, featuring the Famous Omega Hippocampus.

This Case was rated Water resistant back in the Day, it is now a Vintage Timepiece, it has NOT been tested for Water Resistance and if you wish to Submerge this Watch, you will need to have the Watch Professionally Resealed before doing so!!
Hands, Crystal and Crown/Pushers
Original Handset are all in very good order.
Original Signed Omega crystal has been lightly polished with some small age related marks remaining as part of the Service.
Original Omega Crown and Pushers are in excellent Condition.
Strap
On the Original Steel 1162 Omega Bracelet with 172 end links. The Bracelet is in nice vintage condition with some age related marks but nothing major at all. The Bracelet seems to be the Original Size as it is currently fitting up to a 8.5 inch Wrist.
Comes with a free GungaDin Watch Box as pictured.
