The Watch

The Reverso was first patented in 1931. The Reverso was an innovative solution to a first-world problem: the risk to Polo players that their Watch might get damaged during game-time. The solution? reversing your watch so that the crystal is protected and the watch encased in solid steel. This wacky solution was the brainchild of businessman César de Trey, who approached his friend Jacques-David LeCoultre to produce the watch and the pair engaged René-Alfred Chauvot to design it. And the rest as they say....is history.

The original Reverso reversed into a full steel case, as mentioned above, In 1994, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Duoface concept with the back of the watch featuring a second dial although driven by a single movement. The original Ref. 270 Duoface came in yellow gold with a silver dial on both sides (Ref. 270.1.54) but most later models have a black dial on the “home” side. The silver and black look, and the words “Night” and “Day” on the home side, gave rise to the popular nickname for this model, “Night & Day”. This was produced in yellow gold (Ref. 270.2.54) or stainless steel (Ref. 270.8.54).which we have on offer here.

The 270.8.54 is easily, in our opinion, one of the best watches of the last 30 years and one of unimaginable quality, being able to change the Dial at the slide of a finger is quite frankly ridiculous Workmanship and this quality shines throughout the whole watch.

Measuring at 26mm x 42mm long, the case size is modern and extremely comfortable. It is very hard not to fall in love with this guy!
