The Watch

.

Lemania boasts a rich history, providing Timepieces for the British Armed Forces, amongst other militaries around the World. These Lemania single pusher chronographs were issued to the Pilots of the RAF and were produced for around 20 years, from the 50s to the early 70s, and in low quantities, they are now much sought after.

.

Lemania at the time was regarded as the world's best for chronographs and even supplied movements to companies such as Omega and Patek Philippe. Meaning these watches were at the pinnacle of watchmaking for the time.

.

This particular Lemania Chronograph is a Series 3 and was issued to an RAF Pilot in 1960. The Series 3 Monopusher is probably the most sought after of the Lemania Chronos, thanks in no small part to the excellent Movement and large 40mm asymmetric Case.  The Movement in question is the famous column wheel Lemania 2220. At 40mm, the case has a modern presence you don’t often see in pieces of this era, The monopusher side is thicker to prevent the pusher stalk bending.
