The Omega 2996 61 SC was issued to Pakistani forces towards the end of the 1950s, notably the P.A.F, Pakistani Air Force, there was also a small amount of these issued to the P.N.S, Pakistani Navy Ships.

The Omega 2996 61 SC was a Ranchero reference and this example dates from 1958, a quick google search shows a few of these references with the P.N.S engraving to the back but with Seamaster Dials dating from the same year.

The Dial inside this Case is somewhat of a mixture of an Omega Dirty Dozen dial and an Omega Thin Arrow. The dial is marked "T Swiss Made T" for the presence of Tritium. I have found some similar Dials marked for Tritium delivered to other Commonwealth countries in 56/57, namely the RAAF and the RNZAF, these were delivered in very small quantities.

There is not much known about these P.N.S Watches and I can't sit here and tell you that I know the exact story of this Watch. There is not a great deal known about them publicly. The Watch is extremely pleasing to the eye and and the Ranchero case sits very happily on your Wrist.

Overall the Omega is in nice Vintage condition.
The Dial is in good order, it has some very minor paint loss to the 3.
The Case is in very good nick, with a few age related marks.
Caseback markings are legible.
