The Watch
The Datejust has remained Rolex’s mainstay model since the brand introduced it in 1945. When it comes to popularity, the steel Oyster case and Jubilee bracelet combination is at the top of the pecking order for its sleek appearance and versatility. The Submariner dates back to the 1950s, the GMT as well, but no classic Rolex has a richer history than the Datejust.
.
The example we have here is the Datejust reference 1601. It is a classic in the truest sense. This watch is from circa 1972 but remains fresh and relevant. Just like a certain beat or melody in music, there is something about the Datejust that remains appealing to all. It can be worn with anything, on anyone, and anywhere. It’s one of those watches that is so comfortable to wear but makes the wearer stand a bit taller and straighter with the pride of wearing a quality, classic Swiss watch. This excellent example is the classic of the Datejust model with a steel Oyster case, white-gold fluted bezel, and Jubilee bracelet. Combined with a lovely Grey Dial and the beautiful patina on the hands, this example shows the best of what a vintage Datejust can offer.

This guy comes on a Jubilee bracelet ref 62510H with 555 end links. The clasp code is "I4" which we believe dates the Bracelet to 1984, so possibly a service replacement.

Overall the Datejust is in Lovely Vintage condition.
The Case and Bracelet have some small marks but nothing major at all. I believe the Case to have been professionally refinished at some stage.
Crown screws down nicely and tightly.
Crystal is quite possibly original and has been polished.
The Dial is in lovely Vintage Order and looks absolutely fantastic on the Wrist.
