The Watch
The GMT Master was born out of necessity in 1955, when the Pan-Am company needed a watch that could display multiple time zones simultaneously Rolex was able to deliver. Having a watch that kept good time was a must for pilots in those days.
Pan-Am pilots were not the only men in the air wearing these watches, however. NASA, US Air Force pilots and traveling business people all adopted the watch.
.The 1675 was first introduced with a glossy gilt dial, which was later changed to a matte dial in the late 1960s, like the one you see here with a beautiful patina. The indexes and hands have aged nicely and are different shades – something you often see with this reference.

The Watch boasts a jaw-dropping "Ghost" Faded Fat Font Pepsi Bezel that is correct for the Ref. and has faded to a beautiful colour. Also included with the Watch is an Original rolex 1970s Service Bezel, should you wish to swap the look.

Beating away inside the 40mm Oyster Case is the iconic 1570 automatic hacking movement, which is regarded as one of the best movements Rolex ever produced.
