Absolutely stunning Mid-Victorian Copper and Brass Kindling Bucket.
I believe this piece to be English made with its awesome brass Lion mask handle and Lion paw feet.
The piece originally had a hammered finish which is still visible in some parts but almost 160-170 years of wear and polishing from house keepers has taken it back to a smoother finish.
When you handle the piece, it feels wonderfully tactile with wear that just can not be replicated.
It is a real testament to the Workmanship and quality of this piece that it is still standing proudly with Lions that look like they can pounce at any second.
I have given it a very light clean and buff to bring it back to life, it still retains a beautiful patina, that has developed over the years.
The bucket measures approx. 18''w x 10"d x 11"h.
This will look supreme in the correct setting.
