The Watch

The Cellini is probably the least-known series in the Rolex catalogue, the Cellini was first introduced in the early 1960’s and was named after Italian artist Benvenuto Cellini. The watch was the brainchild of marketing director Rene-Paul Jeanneret, who wanted Rolex to offer a high-end dress style timepiece as an alternative to the sports watches they were known for.
.
The example we have here is the very elegant reference 3811, the 24x28mm Tank Case is crafted in 18k Gold. This guy dates from 1970 and boasts a wonderful Bronze coloured Dial that shimmers and changes in different lights.
